Fresh from the Melbourne International Jazz Festival, Straightup is excited to present the next thing in Ethiojazz: piano prodigy Samuel Yirga’s Quartet.

After winning the 2011 Best World Music Album through his band Dub Colossus, Samuel Yirga became one of the world’s most followed young pianists. To celebrate the release of this debut album GUZO, Samuel Yirga Quartet will be touring Australia—stopping in Perth, Melbourne and Sydney.

Bridging the gaps between pop, contemporary and classical Jazz with traditional Ethiopian rhythms, Samuel Yirga’s performances will have you thinking about music in a new way.
